Residents from the Penrith City Council are entitled to up to 4 free bulky household collections per year. These free services are a great way to get rid of your unwanted large goods such as furniture or appliances. You must book and arrange a collection over the phone with the Penrith City Council on 4732 7777.

You must make a booking for the kerbside rubbish collection as soon as possible, as it usually takes 2 to 4 weeks before the Penrith City Council are able to pick up your unwanted junk. You may see longer delays of up to 8 weeks during busy periods such as holidays and school breaks.

The Penrith City Council encourages residents to recycle and reuse their waste as much as possible instead of throwing it to the dumpsters. Donating household goods that are still in good condition is the best way to get rid of your unwanted goods. Charity organisations such as St Vincent de Paul Society or The Salvation Army will accept goods that can be repurposed and reused.
